Food and Fun: Upcoming Events On Campus and In the Quad Cities

As the weather gets warmer, its time for good fun and good food.  Here are a few upcoming local events to grab a quick bite to eat while enjoying the fresh air and other fun activities.

Food Truck Fest – April 27, 9pm-Midnight

Come one come all to the best Late Night @ SAU event of the year: Food Truck Fest!  Bring your student ID for a $5 voucher to use at any of the food truck vendors.  It’s a perfect opportunity for a late night snack and a fun time with friends before finals really start to set in.  Check your SAU emails for more information.

Village in Bloom Festival  – May 5, 2018

Come out and enjoy an afternoon of art and food! The festival features art exhibits of and for area children, performances for the whole family, make-and-take children’s art activities and plenty of food trucks and small bites.  If you’re looking for more of a meal, be sure to check out any of the yummy restaurants like BREW in the Village, Lagomarcino’s and Rudy’s Tacos.



Freighthouse Famers Market – May 5, 2018

Before you head out to the Village In Bloom festival, check pick up some fresh frutis and veggies at the Freighthouse Farmers Market. There is something for everyone here at the Farmer’s Market.  Here you can find the freshest dairy, meats, cheeses and produces in the Quad Cities and sample a wide variety of homemade desserts, jams and bread.  If you’re looking for unique handmade crafts, you’ll find pet items, birdhouses, jewelry, teas, soaps essential oils and so much more! The farmers market is pet-friendly!  The summer season starts Saturday May 5th and the hours are 8am-1pm.  Additional hours can be found on their website here.



Quad Cities Beer Fest – May 12, 2018

Start National Craft Beer Fest right by heading downtown to the Quad Cities Beer Week celebration.  Come taste various microbrews from breweries throughout the greater Quad Cities area.  Quad Cities Craft Beer Fest takes place May 12th at the Bass Street Plaza on 17th St in Moline. Tickets in advance are $20 and day of admission is $30.  Hurry and purchase your passes soon! Check out the list of breweries and to purchase tickets here
